The American School of Madrid is a PreK-12 co-educational day
school that was founded in 1961 in response to the needs of
English-speaking international executives and their families.
Today the school's academic reach embraces a heterogeneous
international community residing in or around the Spanish
capital. ASM educates students from over 54 countries who are
native speakers in at least 20 different languages.
A private, independent non-profit school, ASM is affiliated with
the Association for the Advancement of International Education,
the European Council of International Schools, the National
Association of Independent Schools and the Mediterranean
Association of International Schools.
ASM offers a U.S. high school college-entrance curriculum, the
International Baccalaureate program and the official Spanish
program, thereby qualifying its graduates for entrance to
American, Spanish and other universities throughout the world.
ASM is the only school in Madrid that is designated as a
"sponsored" school by the United States Department of
State, Office of Overseas Schools. It is accredited by the Middle
States Association of Schools and Colleges as well as by the
Spanish Ministry of Education.
