Welcome to Corpus Christi School! In 2002 we celebrated 50 years of educating young people in the Wilmington, Delaware area. Children from Kindergarten through Grade Eight follow a strong academic curriculum while developing social and religious maturity. We are proud to have twice been the recipient of the U.S. Department of Education's National Exemplary Blue Ribbon Award. We work today to maintain that level of instruction and caring.
Our school prepares children to live in a world that is evolving. Our Covenant with the Earth project has made us aware of the need to appreciate and protect the world God has given us and to support the people in it with prayer and service. Recognizing these needs, our school works to recognize and enhance each student's strengths and talents in all areas of the school community.
We provide instruction using developmentally appropriate methods. Students are challenged academically in both the classroom and through a wide variety of extracurricular activities. In order to meet the needs of students, we offer enrichment activities to students who qualify and support activities to students who need some remedial help.
Our school encourages children to develop in all areas. We are aware that every child has a unique set of strengths, and we work to insure that those strengths are developed. Many of our students excel in creative and sports programs implemented by teachers of Art, Music, and Physical Education. We provide opportunities for our students to develop their spiritual lives with liturgies, school prayer and community outreach programs. Our students help plan and participate in liturgies and prayer services. We have monthly outreach programs that provide needed services to the community outside our school.
Mission Statement
We are a Catholic Elementary School serving the children and families of Corpus Christi and St. Mary of the Assumption Parishes. Grounded in Gospel values and the Franciscan tradition, we offer programs, which focus on the academic, social, and religious development of the child from kindergarten through eighth grade. It is our goal to create a vision of social justice through outreach programs and develop a sense of individual responsibility to local and global community.
